[WDS] Windows Deployment Services 各版本特性和功能

        Windows Deployment Services（WDS）可以在 Windows Server 2003 SP1 or SP2、Windows Server 2008 以及 Windows Server 2008 R2 上进行构建。但是不同平台版本的 WDS 其特性和功能也有很大的区别，尤其对于一些打算在现有满足需求的环境下使用 WDS 来部署 Windows 的，或计划升级到新版本平台的 ITPro 来说，直观的了解 WDS 各版本所包含的特性和功能就显得尤为重要。

        在 TechNet Library 中微软提供了一份 WDS 各版本的特性和功能对比表，gOxiA 转载至此与大家分享，被作为备忘供以后自己参考使用！

Microsoft Online Services 的 URL

        使用 MSDN Subscriptions 提供的 Windows Azure Platform 使用上了 Microsoft Online Services，虽然只是试用，但是时间还是蛮充裕的能用到明年2月份！利用 Microsoft Online Services 我为公司创建了 Exchange Server、OCS+LiveMeeting 以及Sharepoint 应用，而且维护强度要比在公司内部的系统下降很多！

        由于 Microsoft Online Services 常用的 URL 非常之长，虽然在实际使用中可以使用域名重定向方式来使用，但是在执行一些配置时还是使用原始 URL 更为稳妥，为了不用每次登录到管理平台去找这些 URL，特将这些常用的 URL 备忘在 Blog 上以便日后查询。

Linux Integration Services v2.1 for Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V R2 发布

        今天微软发布了 Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V R2 面向 Linux 的集成组件 v2.1 版本。在 Linux 虚拟机上安装该组件后将大幅提高其 Guest OS 的整体性能。

        Linux Integration Services v2.1 以 VMbus 总线基准进行开发，为 Hyper-V 下的 Linux 虚拟机提供了 synthetic network controller 和 synthetic storage controller 的支持。

        下面是 Integration Services v2.1 的主要功能和改进：

  • Fastpath Boot Support: Boot devices now take advantage of the storage VSC to provide enhanced performance.
  • Timesync: The clock inside the virtual machine will remain synchronized with the clock on the host.
  • Integrated Shutdown: Virtual machines running Linux can be shut down from either Hyper-V Manager or System Center Virtual Machine Manager, using the “Shut Down” command.
  • Symmetric Multi-Processing (SMP) Support: Supported Linux distributions can use up to 4 virtual processors (VP) per virtual machine.
  • Heartbeat: Allows the host to detect whether the guest is running and responsive.
  • Pluggable Time Source: A pluggable clock source module is included to provide a more accurate time source to the guest.

  • Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 SP3
  • Novell SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11
